The FBI has taken three defendants related to January 6 into custody in Florida

The FBI arrested three individuals in Florida on Saturday in connection with the January 6, 2021, US Capitol attack. Jonathan Daniel Pollock, Olivia Michele Pollock, and Joseph Daniel Hutchinson III, considered fugitives, are now in custody and are set to appear in federal court in Ocala, Florida, on Monday, coinciding with the third anniversary of the Capitol attack. The legal system grapples with addressing the numerous individuals involved in storming the Capitol to support then-President Donald Trump.

Olivia Pollock, slated for trial last March for federal charges related to the Capitol riot, failed to appear in court in Washington, DC. Jonathan Pollock, charged in July 2021, had eluded authorities, with the FBI offering rewards for information on his whereabouts. Prosecutors allege that Jonathan Pollock engaged in violent acts, including assaulting officers, charging at law enforcement with a flagpole, and ramming a police shield into an officer’s neck.

The FBI’s “Most Wanted” site still showcases images of individuals sought for their alleged participation in the Capitol attack, with over 80 people wanted for acts of violence. Prosecutors contend that Hutchinson, Olivia Pollock, and Jonathan Pollock coordinated an assault on multiple police officers. Hutchinson and Olivia Pollock have pleaded not guilty, while Jonathan Pollock has not entered a formal plea.

The aftermath of the Capitol attack has led to criminal charges against over 1,200 Americans, with more than 890 found guilty of federal crimes. The Justice Department reports that over half of those found guilty have received prison sentences. The arrests underscore ongoing efforts to hold individuals accountable for their roles in the unprecedented events of January 6, 2021.
